ABUSE

why do we judge every detail about ourselves? why do we find self worth in academics, guys, friends, positions?- do those really define who we are? why do we spend more time getting our exterior ready than we spend preparing our hearts for spiritual ware-fare each day? we are lucky to spend 5 or 10 minutes reading a scripture so we can check "spending time with God" off the list as if that is all it takes for the Lord to truely prepare us to stand against the million lies that will be thrown at us everyday on this campus.  we are living in a world that cares more about exterior beauty than a beautiful heart because we have conformed and allowed that to matter to us too. what if we spent more time focusing on our heart issues and the person we are on the inside? would that beauty shine through? would the world take to it? why do we care what the world thinks or says? does it matter at all?

Satan thrives off our insecurities and comparison.

Why give him this satisfaction? Do we genuinly feel better when we compare ourselves to others and pass judgements we are not entitled to pass?

I have listened to every lie satan has told me since i have been in auburn. believing even a single tiny lie gave satan a foot-hold in my life and he has creeped in more and more as my guard has been down and as i have allowed him to speak lies over my life. the ABUSE to our hearts and bodies that satan causes is enough to allow the feeling of complete defeat.

BUT we are not hopeless! I am not hopeless!

JONAH 2:4-10
Then I said, " I am driven away from your sight; Yet i shall look again upon your temple. The waters closed in over me to take my life; the deep surrounded me; weeds were wrapped around my head at the roots of the mountains. I wen tdoen to the land whose bars closed upon me forever; yet you brought my life up from the pit, O Lord my God. When my life was fainting away, I remembered the Lord, and my prayer turned to you, into your holy temple. Those who pay reguard to wain idols forsake their hope of steadfast love. But I with the voice of thanksgiving will sacrifice to you; what i have vowed i will pay. Salvation belongs to the Lord!"
And the Lord spoke to the fish, and it vomited Jonah out upon dry land.

John 16:33
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.
Praise the Lord for his victory and salvation.
